About
About Oasis Women Center
A registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving women in recovery in Denton County, Texas.
Mission and vision
Why we exist.
Walk alongside women recovering from drug and alcohol addiction in a Christ-centered environment as they journey toward self sufficiency.
Create a safe haven where women in recovery can walk in freedom, and be empowered and equipped to live a life with dignity and purpose.
What we believe
Every woman is uniquely created by God.
She deserves access to the basics. Food. Shelter. Healthcare. A door that locks.
We believe that a woman leaving a recovery program is not a risk to be managed. She is someone who has already done the hardest thing, and who needs a bridge long enough to reach solid ground. Most programs end at discharge. The gap that opens up right after is where we work.
We serve women regardless of their ability to pay, and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, disability, age, or any other characteristic protected by law.
Our charitable purpose
What we are organized to do.
Oasis Women Center is organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The organization provides transitional housing, transportation assistance, educational support, and mental health resources for women who have completed a drug or alcohol recovery program, to promote their successful reintegration into society and to help them achieve stability and independent living.
Who we will serve
Who the house is for.
Women who have completed a drug and/or alcohol recovery program and who are homeless, at imminent risk of homelessness, or otherwise without safe and stable housing.
Residents generally are low income or very low income, at or below 30 percent of the Area Median Income as defined by HUD, or can otherwise demonstrate financial hardship. Priority goes to women in immediate danger, women who are literally homeless, and women with the fewest alternatives.
Selection is never based on ability to pay.
